| Clothing Isn't Everything! |
So I was trying to come up with a first article topic with Keke, and I think we both agreed that this is a good one! I hope you like it!
• The world focuses on Outward beauty, why is that?
• Christians focus on Inward beauty, why is that?
• It is a KNOWN fact that 99% of all people, mostly girls
want to be"beautiful". They want the cutest clothes,
and the absolute prettiest make-up. Simply, they
want to be noticed as "gorgeous".
• My question today is, is that really what we need?
1 Samuel 16:7 - But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
•God is explaining to Samuel that God sees and cares about your HEART rather than your make-up and clothing! Do you notice that David, rather than being in the line with his brothers for the chance to be the NEW KING, he was out in the field, tending to the sheep? What does that say about David?
1 Corinthians 6:9 - Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
• Your body is a TEMPLE as a Christian! And so as a Christian, you need to wear things that doesn't make God ashamed! You need to wear things that you WON'T regret later and that compliments you as a Christian. You need to stick out like a sore thumb when it comes to modesty! Especially when you are out in any public place. Anywhere really!
• Outward beauty....Inward beauty...They both are things in this world.
But when it comes down to Judgement Day mascara, high heels, and
perfume won't get you into Heaven. What really counts will, INWARD
beauty will. And ladies, that's what we should focus on!
1 John 2:17 -
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it;
but he who does the will of God abides forever.
